October 27th 2004 is my finances birthday.  Try to imagine her
surprise when I told her that we need to postpone our
birthday dinner for about an hour so I could get these
pictures.  I got out of trouble by framing the best shot and of
course, presenting it to her for her birthday.  Thank you Kate
for your understanding of this crazy addictive hobby.
Here I took the series of images
throughout the event and compiled
them into one image using Adobe
Photoshop.

December 21, 2010 saw a rare event:  The first time since
1698 that a full lunar eclipse will coincide with the arrival of
the Winter Solstice on the same day.  Also,  the moon has not
been in the Earth's shadow so high in the sky since 419 A.D.
