This bright ridge of emission nebula sits about
2000 light years away in the constellation Cygnus
the Swan.  You can see in the middle of the image
that cosmic dust clouds rise up high.  Each one
measures many light years in length.  They are
excited by hot hydrogen gas and radiation from
near by super masive stars.
